"And Why Do We Fall, Bruce?" - How I Begun

Have you ever felt like a superhero? Like you're getting prepared for a big battle? During my 5 years in Madrid I couldn't help but think back to the movie 'Batman Begins' and how Bruce Wayne is trained and equipped to take on the challenges facing Gotham City.

In a land far, far away...

While in therapy overcoming depression, in a land far far away from my motherland Sweden, I often felt like I was learning the skills and gaining the strength the same way Batman did. Like for Wayne, it took a long climb up the mountain (getting rid of denial, accepting help, facing the truth) to start the training.

The Comeback

I learnt how to deal with negative thoughts, that I was a good person, to see patterns in the past, to trust other people, to express feelings and more - all the things I needed to take on life and make a big comeback!

The weekly sessions took place with very few people knowing about it. Until this day, I believe keeping it private was a good thing. I could easily have been swayed to return to Sweden, to interrupt what I was doing, and it would just have gotten me back to old tracks.

Changing environment, changing your life

And why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.
— 'Thomas Wayne' ('Batman Begins', 2005)

Sometimes we've got to get out of our comfort zone (the C-zone) and move to a new exotic environment to change perspective, change our lives.

Sometimes it's good to surround yourself with new people, explore new sides of yourself in a place where people don't know your past.

Freedom

Those 5 years in Madrid gave me the freedom and the new start I needed to re-discover myself, without the triggers and memories. Slowly I began seeing things from a point of strength, and my husband and others close to me are still surprised at the peace I found, knowing where I started.

I know the steps to build up confidence, take risks, and improve your life in a BIG way! That's why I want to help you do the same. I believe in you!

All the best,

Hermine
